How did we get started in Golden Mountain
Dogs? We have observed that our two
breeds were very complimentary to one
another and they shared many good traits,
such as sweet personalities, easy trainability
and general size and coat length.
Overall, as a breed Bernese Mountain Dogs
occasionally reserved with strangers, and in
general Golden Retrievers are happy to see
anyone and are very outgoing. The blending
of the two breeds into Golden Mountain Dogs
has produced, as we hoped, dogs who are
good with everyone, yet will be a bit calmer,
in general than pure Golden Retrievers.
Golden Mountain Dogs get a natural love &
tolerance of children from both "parent"
breeds. GMDs also get good working
instincts and easy trainablity from both sides
of their pedigrees. Their unique good
looks are just an added bonus!
Our Golden Mt Dog "parents" must also pass
hip, eye & heart exams. Our breeding
standards remain high for any litters that we
produce.
